Excellent driver!

Originally sold new in the high desert area of Southern California before sold to a new owner in Phoenix, Arizona area in 1991.  During this period, owner removed the original 1966 Ford 390 GT and replaced it with a Ford 428SCJ motor and Toploader 4speed. Car eventually sat in a backyard in Phoenix due to owner age and illness before acquired by Terry Moore. Terry Moore sold the 428SCJ and top loader before offering the car as a complete roller for sale via Fairlane Club of America. The cars original 66 390 GT motor, heads, crank and all the rest or the pieces were disassembled with the block and heads bare and bead blasted. I bought this car as a complete roller, with all parts but not assembled or running in November 2014 in Phoenix, Az.
The car has its original, untouched 1966 lacquer paint job and original white GT interior, all in original very worn condition.   The car needs interior and exterior. The car is straight but had some slight damage to the rear bumper when I purchased it along with right rear fender damage which was repaired by Terry Moore prior to me collecting the car but missing the Fairlane Trim Letters on the right rear fender. I obtained those letters and have installed them. I was able to straighten the rear original bumper.
I sent the engine block and heads, along with connecting rods locally to ARCE El Cajon, Ca where the block was fully machined. They fitted new Stainless steel valves and appropriate guides and gave me assembled heads. I bought new forged alum pistons, ARCE reconditioned the connecting rods, machined the crank, assembled pistons on the rods and gave me back the engine all machined and ready to assemble. The engine crank, pistons and rods were balanced.  I assembled the engine in my own garage adding a Weiand Alum water pump, and Isky Mega 280 Hydraulic Camshaft, Isky Hydraulic lifters, new pushrods, stock FE oil pump(not high volume or high pressure), stock Ford FE rocker arm assemblies, a Mallory Dual Point Mechanical Distributor converted to a Unilite, along with a original Ford alum 6V intake manifold with Holley 6V carburetors, List 2436/2437s 2300s (1030CFM Total). I purchased a set of coated FPA Headers for 1966 GT heads. Clutch is a new 12 inch diaphragm clutch and a completely rebuilt 1966 Ford Fairlane Toploader, small input and output, wide ratio transmission. Transmission was rebuilt by Border Parts Drive Train Components, Spring Valley, Ca.  Stock starter has been upgraded Power Master high speed Starter. Runs stock alternator and stock fuel pump.
The stock original 1966 Ford Fairlane driveshaft was twisted so used a larger diameter wrecking yard shaft which accepted larger universal joints having it custom built with these components, along with universal joints which do not require to be greased.
Replaced the original 66 Fairlane 9 inch small bearing 28 spline axles with a new set of custom 31 spline small bearing axles. Replaced the original Ford 9 inch non Trac Lok rear gears with a set of 3.50 gears and Trac Lok.
Converted 4 wheel drum brakes to 4 wheel disc brakes using a complete new SSBC front and rear disc brake setup on the car. Factory single bowl master cylinder was replaced with a 71 Ford Mustang (Non Power Steering) dual master cylinder. No power option and the car does not need it. As part of the system added an adjustable proportioning valve due to the disc brakes and smaller front tires versus larger rear tires.
The car was sent to a local San Diego hot rodder who sandblasted the entire underside of the car, including trunk, and the full engine compartment before then painting the entire underside, engine compartment and trunk with a special painted sealer. As we expected, the body was completely sound and solid.  There was no rusted panels or underside period. Very solid straight car.
The entire front suspension was completely rebuilt before installing the disc brakes. The front springs were replaced with a set of 2 inch lowering stock type front springs.
Car runs 2 Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500 Series 54 15×6 on the front and 2 15×7 Wheel Vintiques Magnum 500 Series 54 on the rear.  The car runs two Cooper p275/60/R15 tires on the rear and two Cooper 205/60-R15 Tires on the front.
Car runs a stock original 1966 Ford Fairlane GT front radiator which was completely hot tanked and pressure checked, with it’s original engine fan, but no shroud.
Fuel tank was completely sand basked and hot tanked and installed with brand new fuel sending unit.  Cars fuel lines were plugged when I got the car so I replaced the engine fuel line assembly in this car with brand new reproduction fuel lines for the 1966 Fairlane.
Car has 2 new Flowmaster series 40 mufflers with a “X” pipe, with dual outlets just under the rear bumper. The x member, mufflers and rear exhaust extensions all have flanges so mufflers and X pipes can be removed without removing the whole system for underside repairs.
Car has a correct, original 1966 Ford Fairlane AM radio which has been completely rebuilt by the custom radio fellow in Tennessee making it a AM/FM Stereo including ability to play music off a USB stick, but look and fit original in the dash along with custom front speakers in left and right kick panels.
Original 1966 Ford Fairlane GT steering wheel replaced with high quality and condition original factory steeling wheel, back in color
Car runs a Hurst Four Speed shifting unit.
